Love Comes Home {Ann Gabhart} | #bookreview #christianromance #bookblog

World War II is finally over and the people of Rosey Corner are busy welcoming the boys home. The Merritt sisters in particular are looking toward the future. Kate is eager to start a family and live out her dream of happily ever after with Jay. Evangeline wants a beautiful house and encourages Mike to pastor a big-town church. Victoria wants what can never be--a life with a man who will never come back. And little Lorena is growing up and wondering more and more about her birth family.

Through the heartfelt storytelling of bestselling author Ann Gabhart, readers join these endearing characters as they walk an uncertain road. Each sister must learn to hold her plans with a loose hand, trusting that God will guide and strengthen them as they share the joys and sorrows of life in their little corner of the world.

This book is centered around the Merritt family and begins just as World World II is ending. Sisters Evie and Kate are awaiting the return of their husbands from the war, while Tori is dealing with the fact that her husband will not be returning.

With the book being titled “Love Comes Home” I figured it was all about the men coming home. So when the men had returned home by chapter three I was a little worried about what else this book might entail. To my delight, the book was actually more about the love that grew in their lives after the men had returned from the war.

Each sister in this family has their struggles and the author did a great job of showing God’s love and God’s plan in each of their lives. You meet some outside characters who are intertwined with this family, and you grow to love them as well.

The dialogue in this book can get a little wordy at times, but that is really the only complaint I have about this story. It didn’t end exactly like I wanted it to, but the ending that we got was so much better than what I had wanted anyway.

Overall, this is a great story that I would recommend to anyone looking for a worthy Christian Romance read.
